HOW I WORK
I aim to provide a safe environment in which you feel comfortable enough to get to know something more about the parts of your life that leave you feeling confused, stuck, or otherwise unable to move forward. I offer an attitude of warmth, non-judgement, curiosity, and careful attention, while providing direct feedback that is informed by many years of practice, ongoing formal study, continuing education and professional consultation, as well as a life-long interest in understanding what it means to be human, and how we can heal from painful past experiences and move beyond the parts of ourselves that hold us back.
Our earliest relationships with important others play a crucial role in shaping us into the people we become, and provide the foundation from which we currently experience our lives.
These relationships color our perspectives, and impact the choices we make, whether related to a career, friendships, romantic partners, finances, or just about anything else. What we see as acceptable and possible for ourselves has everything to do with our early relational experiences (and the larger socio-cultural context in which these relationships exist).
To the extent that we can be aware of the influence these past relationships have on the ways we think, feel and act, we can develop a greater sense of agency, increasing the chance for living a more satisfying life.
